... I love the icon of the stripper - this sexual mythical creature and I think what makes some burlesque fascinating is its use of this creature. My shows are about my ideal striptease performer and I am equally influenced by French Cabaret showgirls who go topless with amazing costumes, as I am by American burlesque dancers who wear pasties (and amazing costumes!).
It is not true to say that one type of performer is neccessarily better than the other, it depends more on the performer's show than the venue they work in.

Oh my goodness yes! To amazing effect. Burlesque has such a varied history, from parody, to stripping, to comedy, that performers of any gender have a lot to draw upon.
